Terms of Service
Last updated October 12, 2026
The Short Version
- PartyJobs.ca introduces planners and vendors. Any agreement for an event is between the planner and the vendor, not with us.
- We confirm a vendor's phone number, nothing more. We do not verify licences, insurance, qualifications or work quality. Do your own checks before hiring.
- Posting a job is free. Vendors who unlock your job get your name, phone number and email address, and may use them only to contact you about that job.
- Vendors buy credits to unlock jobs. Credits don't expire, have no cash value, and are generally not refundable.
- If a planner has not engaged with your quote 7 days after you send it, your credits come back automatically.
- The same conduct rules apply to planners and vendors. Serious or repeated breaches can get an account closed, and a vendor account closed this way loses its unspent credits.
A summary only. The full text below is what applies.

These Terms
These terms are an agreement between you and MAVIN Products Inc., which operates PartyJobs.ca. By creating an account, you accept them and our Privacy Policy, which together with any policy these terms refer to make up the whole agreement between us.
What PartyJobs Does
PartyJobs.ca lets event planners post what they need and lets local vendors respond. We introduce the two sides. That is all we do.
PartyJobs does not provide, perform, supervise, guarantee, endorse, insure or warrant any services offered by a vendor. Any agreement about an event, including pricing, payment, cancellation, performance, safety, licensing, insurance and the quality of services, is solely between the planner and the vendor.
We do not guarantee that any planner will hire a vendor, that any vendor will receive work, or that any job will be completed.
What We Verify
We confirm a vendor's phone number by text message. That shows only that someone with access to that phone completed the check. Phone verification is not identity verification, business verification, background screening, licence or insurance verification, or an endorsement. We do not check a vendor's insurance, licences, registration or work, and anything a vendor says about themselves is their own claim.
PartyJobs provides information and tools to help you make your own decisions. You are responsible for independently evaluating the identity, qualifications, licensing, insurance, references, pricing and suitability of anyone before you enter into an agreement with them. See Hiring Safely.
Your Account
You must be at least 18 to use PartyJobs.ca. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Posting Jobs
Posting a job is free. By posting, you confirm that you genuinely want the services you describe and that you have the authority to post the job and the information in it.
You must not use PartyJobs to collect vendor information for market research, solicitation, competitive intelligence or any purpose unrelated to the event in your job.
Your contact details. When a vendor unlocks your job, they receive your name, phone number and email address so they can contact you about that job. Before you post, we explain who can unlock it and ask you to confirm you understand. A summary of your job, without your name or contact details, may appear on public pages of the site.
Using Contact Details
Contact details shared through PartyJobs, in either direction, may be used only to communicate about the job or quote they were shared for. You must not sell, transfer or publish them, or use them for unrelated marketing, solicitation or spam.
If a user misuses someone's contact details, we may suspend or close their account.
Credits
Vendors spend credits to unlock a job and respond to it. Before you spend credits, we show you the job's city and details. Unlocking a job means you accept it as shown.
Credits do not expire. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are not refundable for cash except where the law requires it or these terms say otherwise.
Payments and Refunds
You can buy credit packs or pay for a single job. Prices are shown before you pay, and applicable taxes are added at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. You agree to give accurate billing information and authorize Stripe to charge the payment method you choose.
Credit purchases are generally final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or as expressly provided in these terms. If you believe you were charged in error, charged twice, or that a purchase was not authorized, contact us promptly at support@partyjobs.ca.
Please contact us before starting a chargeback or payment reversal for a purchase you authorized, so we can try to resolve it, unless the law or your payment provider's rules say otherwise. If a payment is reversed, refunded or charged back, we remove the credits it bought; if they have already been spent, we may suspend the account while the matter is resolved.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
Credit Protection
If the event planner has not engaged with your quote within 7 days after you submit it, your credits are returned to your account automatically, normally within a day after those 7 days end. You do not need to file a claim. Only engagement within those 7 days counts.
Engagement means any of these, recorded on PartyJobs: the planner opens the page where your quote is displayed in full, opens the conversation containing your message, replies to you, or shortlists or declines your quote. We base protection on engagement rather than replies, because planners often stop responding when a quote does not fit their budget or plans. Once your quote has been viewed, the lead is considered delivered.
Credit Protection is measured on PartyJobs.ca. If you call, text or email a planner directly, we cannot see whether they replied — so contact outside the platform does not count either way: it will not cost you your refund, and it cannot be used to claim one. Credit Protection is based solely on engagement recorded on PartyJobs; communications outside PartyJobs do not start, stop, extend or otherwise affect it.
You can also ask for credits back within 14 days of responding if the planner's contact details do not work, if you were charged twice for the same job, or if the job looks fake. You can make up to 5 of these requests in any 30 days. We review them, and some are settled automatically. We may deny requests that appear fraudulent, abusive, repetitive or inconsistent with the purpose of Credit Protection.
If automatic returns on an account are unusually high, we check them by hand before returning credits. If we remove a job, or close a planner's account, we return the credits vendors spent on it. Returned credits go back to your balance; they are not paid out as money.
Conduct Rules
These rules apply to planners and vendors alike. Do not:
- give false or misleading information, or post a job you are not planning;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone;
- misuse anyone's contact details (see Using Contact Details);
- offer or ask for anything illegal;
- copy, scrape or resell content or data from the site;
- interfere with the site or try to get around how credits work.
Suspension and Closing Accounts
If we believe these terms have been broken, we may suspend an account while we look into it. A suspended account cannot be used. A vendor keeps their credits during a suspension but cannot spend them.
We may close an account permanently for a serious or repeated breach. When a vendor account is closed this way, its unspent credits are forfeited. When a planner account is closed, their open jobs are removed and vendors who paid to respond to those jobs get their credits back.
You can ask us to close your own account at any time. When we close it, you can no longer sign in, and we take your open jobs and your vendor profile off PartyJobs. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of unused credits, except as required by law or expressly provided in these terms. We may keep some information afterwards, as described below and in our Privacy Policy.
When an account is closed, we may retain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce these terms and maintain transaction records.
What You Post
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant MAVIN Products Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute and otherwise use your content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve and promote PartyJobs.ca.
Job content is used to match your job with vendors, show it to vendors who can unlock it, and show an anonymous summary on public pages. Vendor profile content, including your business name, description and photos, may appear in search results, public vendor pages, pages about services and cities, emails, marketing and social media.
The licence ends when the content is removed from PartyJobs.ca, except for copies in backups, content we must keep by law, and material already published or incorporated into other materials. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
Our Platform
The PartyJobs.ca platform, including its software, design, branding, logos, graphics, text, trademarks and interfaces, is owned by or licensed to MAVIN Products Inc. and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as these terms expressly allow, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the platform.
Services We Rely On
PartyJobs uses third-party service providers to run parts of the platform, including payment processing, hosting, communications, authentication and analytics. Your use of some features may also be subject to those providers' terms and policies. Our Privacy Policy explains what information they receive.
Limits of Our Responsibility
PartyJobs.ca is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost business or lost data;
- we are not responsible for what other users do, say, provide or pay, or for content other users post;
- we are not liable for the site being unavailable, for interruptions, or for unauthorized access to your information that our reasonable safeguards did not prevent;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MAVIN Products Inc., PartyJobs.ca, and their directors, officers, employees, contractors and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages and expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with another user.
Disputes
Before starting a formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@partyjobs.ca and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Changes to These Terms
When we change these terms, the new version shows its effective date and, where appropriate, a summary of the material changes, and we ask you to accept it before you continue. If you do not accept the updated terms, you may stop using PartyJobs and close your account, subject to any outstanding obligations.
General
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision once, we can still enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and any policy they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us about PartyJobs.
- Assignment. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale or reorganization. You may not assign them without our consent.
- Survival. Provisions that by their nature should continue after an account is closed, including payment obligations, licences already granted, limits of liability, indemnification and dispute terms, continue.
